Festeje Colectiva Lohana Berkins

Colectiva Lohana Berkins is a collective fighting for the rights of trans women in Argentina, where they are severely marginalized and subject to disproportionally high rates of poverty and homicide. It is named in honor of Lohana Berkins, a transwoman and activist, who died in Febuary of 2016. At this fundraising party we saw many performances, including by community leader and poet Susy Shock, songwriter MIlly Star, and rappers La Negrah Liyah and Sasha Sathya. There was also a small crafts market and plenty of homemade empanadas.
